Since 2017 the Department has reorganized the Division of Legislations as follows:
These Sections have as their main responsibility the preparation of all relevant national legislations according to the Community acquis, including Guidelines to the inspectors, Actions plans and multiannual national control programs which are based on risk analysis (risk assessment and risk management). In addition these Sections are responsible for liaising between laboratories, other Public Services and Private bodies / stakeholders, for the dissemination of information to all interested parties and the increase of public awareness in all matters that fall under their scope of activities.
The responsibility for carrying out relevant controls of the abovementioned Sections and the implementation of the multiannual national control programs lie within the competence of the Legislation Control Section.
