Further containment measures by the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research due to the Covid-19 pandemic
Suspension of issuance of amateur fishing licenses
According to last night’s announcement of the President of the Republic, which takes effect as of today at 6 p.m., all unnecessary travelling is prohibited and, among other things, the entry into public gathering places, which include beaches, dams, marinas and fishing shelters. Moreover, physical activity is limited to the area in proximity to the public’s residence.
Taking into account the above, the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment, informs the public that any presence of individuals for recreational fisheries purposes in the above mentioned places id prohibited and additionally DFMR suspends the issuance of all recreational fishing licenses (fishing by boat, snorkeling and fishing in dams) until the 13th of April 2020 at 6 p.m.
