The European Week for Waste Reduction 2018 16/11/2018

The annual European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) – a grassroots initiative gathering thousands of local actions on waste prevention organised across Europe – will take place between 17-25 November. For more information, including the list of actions being organised in your countries, please visit http://www.ewwr.eu/en and http://www.ewwr.eu/en/project/main-features

As every year, we will support and promote the event on our social media channels. This year’s EWWR theme is hazardous waste prevention. Our intention is to use the event as a communication opportunity to promote the EU rules and actions facilitating safe disposal of hazardous waste; as well as to promote the new EU Waste Package during the Week.

We would like to invite you to share our materials and to promote messages in your languages. So far we have for example shared, on both Twitter and Facebook, the European Chemicals Agency quiz to check the knowledge of hazardous waste symbols https://twitter.com/EU_ENV/status/1062364400538042369

We will continue promoting elements of the ‘Chemicals’ info sheet, http://ec.europa.eu/environment/pubs/pdf/factsheets/Chemicals/EN.pdf available in all EU languages http://ec.europa.eu/environment/pubs/factsheets.htm

To promote the EU Waste Package we will use the info sheet on waste management https://publications.europa.eu/en/publication-detail/-/publication/2d986694-736a-11e8-9483-01aa75ed71a1/language-en/format-PDF/source-71857303 also available in all EU languages http://ec.europa.eu/environment/pubs/factsheets.htm
The main infographics from this info sheet, attached, is available in all EU languages under this link https://we.tl/t-TyW1qYSB3e

The hashtags we are using are #WasteToResource #CircularEconomy and the event’s hashtag #EWWR2018. The organizers also use #TimeToDetox hashtag.
