Curriculum Vitae

Costas Hadjipanayiotou graduated from the Pancyprian Gymnasium in 1978 and after his military service he followed Graduate studies in Applied Geology at the University of Patra where he graduated in 1985. Subsequently acquired a post graduate in Management of Industrial Waste from ELKEPA 1988, the Master Degree MSc Assessment Environmental Impact of the University of Aberystwyth Wales in 2000 and Management and Public Administration of the MIM in 2002.

He participated in research projects at the University of Patra in the laboratory Applied Geochemistry between the years 1986 - 1989 and then worked as a Geologist in the company 'GEOEREVNA "in Cyprus, where he worked until the end of 1991.

He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK), the Association of Geologists and Mining Engineers of Cyprus and the International Union Impact Assessment (IAIA) since 2001. He is an instructor in Environmental Assessments issues in Cyprus in the training center of the ETSC and the Regional Training Program Office TAIEX Technical Assistance and Information European Union (Regional Training Program RTP).

He is author of the book entitled "Manual Process Elaboration and Evaluation of Environmental Studies - History and Development of the Institution in Cyprus», (2003) ISBN 9963-8801-0-X.

He joined then Environment Serrite in 1991 as Environmental Officer. During his service, he was Head of the Division of Pollution Control and also served as Environmental Counselor for three years (2007-2009) in Brussels in the Permanent Representation of Cyprus to the European Union.

He was appointed by the Public Service Commission as Director of the Department of Environment on March 3 2011, position he holds until today.
