Adaptation to climate change

The international community, the European Union (EU) and each individual State are now faced with a dual challenge in relation to climate change: on the one hand, we need to implement mitigation measures for climate change, namely a drastic reduction of greenhouse gas emissions worldwide, so global warming will not take devastating dimensions in this century. On the other hand, measures must be taken at the same time to adapt to the current and future climate changes which can no longer be prevented, even if all objectives for reducing emissions are achieved, in order to limit the negative\ impact on our daily lives, the economy and the environment.
