Reports / Questionnaires
The Department of Forests prepares and submits national reports to several international organizations and fora in which Cyprus participates as a member, regarding the forests and forest sector of Cyprus. Some of these national Reports are listed below:
Cyprus Reports to the Global Forest Resources Assessment (FRA) Programme of FAO
This Report is prepared by the Department of Forests, as the National Focal Point of Cyprus to FAO Forestry Department, every decade (1990, 2000, 2010 etc) with an interim evaluation every five years (1995, 2005, 2015 etc). The compilation of a Report begins a year ahead of the reference year and thus, in most cases the data included refer to the actual values for the last year before the reference year. However, in some cases, data refer to estimations (based on experts’ knowledge) and extrapolations for the end of the reference year, following specific guidelines provided by FAO.

National Reports to FOREST EUROPE
Cyprus prepares and submits Reports in the framework of the assessment of the State of Europe’s Forests, which is coordinated by the FOREST EUROPE political initiative (Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe) and the Economic Commission for Europe of the United Nations (UNECE).
These Reports are prepared normally every 4-5 years and they are officially presented during the Ministerial Conferences on the Protection of Forests in Europe. These Reports consist of two main parts: the Quantitative part and the Qualitative part.
Cyprus submitted such Reports in 2007 ahead of the Warsaw Ministerial Conference, in 2011 ahead of the Oslo Ministerial Conference and in 2015 ahead of the Madrid Ministerial Conference.

Reports to United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF)
Cyprus constantly submits its Report to the Secretariat of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) regarding the progress in implementing the Forum’s decisions. These periodic Reports are prepared during the last year before the Session of the Forum, on a voluntary basis.
