The Geological Survey Department reports that on Friday, 11 May, 2012 at 21:48 local time, the Seismological Centre has recorded an earthquake of magnitude ML=5.4 and epicentre off-shore Cyprus, 70km south of Larnaca town. The focal depth was about 50km.
The earthquake was felt across the island, especially at the coastal towns.
