Although the status of
populations in Cyprus is unknown, it is generally known that the species occur in small and isolated populations. It is threatened by the collection for commercial purposes, habitat loss and fragmentation due to logging, land re-use, etc.
Priority for the species is the collection of data on its distribution and the finding of new localities as to better describe the species’ area of distribution. Through this, the clarification of the species habitat preferences. Moreover, through genetics the location of possible discontinuities of subpopulations.
