Hypsugo savii is a small bat, distributed in the temperate part of the Western Palearctic and North Africa. It roosts in rock crevices, buildings and bridges. In Cyprus it is not very common.
The most serious threat is probably the destruction of its roosts in buildings.
Priorities for the species are:
1. Systematic monitoring of the species’ colonies.
2. Identification of critical feeding areas.
3. Protection of the species’ refuges.
4. Public awareness.
