        On this page you may find information about the number of explosive substances licences which are granted by the Inspector of Explosive Substances.

        The use of explosive substances is in many cases indispensable for the excavation of minerals and quarry materials. The Head of the Mines Service is also the Inspector of Explosive Substances. The Inspector after examination, grants to suitable and capable persons a Certificate of Competency to handle and use explosive substances. This Certificate has to be renewed every year. During 2022 there were 122 holders of Certificates of Competency for the handling and use of explosive substances and of pyrotechnic articles classified as high explosives.
