Implementation of the legislation for floods in Cyprus (December 2016)


The Water Development Department, as the Competent Authority for the implementation of the Law on floods, is proceeding with the implementation of the provisions of the law and has completed the three implementation stages.

Stage 1:Preliminary Flood Risk Assessment Report (posted in Greek)
The Areas of Potential Significant Flood Risks (posted in Greek)
Information/data on the Areas of Potential Significant Flood Risks (posted in Greek)
Report on the methodology used for the determination of the Areas of Potential Significant Flood Risks (posted in Greek)
Stage 2:Flood Hazard Maps (posted in Greek)
Flood Risk Maps (posted in Greek)
Flood Hazard Maps and Flood Risk Maps Reports (posted in Greek)
Stage 3: The formulation through Public Consultation and the establishment of a Flood Risk Management Plan (FRMP) which includes a Programme of Measures for the prevention and/or the reduction of flood risk in the country.
