The aim of this study was to identify and deal with the karst phenomena (sinkholes) in the areas with gypsiferous rocks in Cyprus. The first suitability zone maps of the areas of Pera Chorio – Nisou, Aradippou, Tochni, Maroni, Mouttagiaka and Agios Athanasios were created. The results of this study have been presented at a symposium, which was carried out in Lefkosia in December of 2007.
