2019 is a very significant year for the Troodos UNESCO Global Geopark, since Cyprus will hold the 2nd International Conference on the UNESCO Global Geoparks of Greece and Cyprus, on 16-18 May 2019. The conference, under the theme “Promotion of the geological and mining heritage, enhancement of geo-education and development of geo-tourism” is aiming to promote the Greek and Cypriot geoparks and highlight their role in education, the touristic industry and the local population. The official language of the conference is Greek.
